Finley Design is expanding our headquarters in Durham to more than double the size of our existing space. Our offices are currently in the Westpoint at 751 building, which we designed for EcoGroup back in 2012. With this expansion, we will be able to serve our clients better and continue to grow as a company. We’re excited for this next phase in our architectural design journey.
Our client and neighbor across the hall is moving into a new space that we designed for them at our signature Mosaic at Chatham Park project. The vacated space presents a much-needed opportunity for Finley Design to expand offices to accommodate our rapidly growing team and support our newest Mixed Use and multifamily projects. As a bonus, we’ll enjoy the use of a space that we designed 10 years ago.
Finley Design’s expanded space will benefit our clients as well as our team. A new reception space will provide a warm welcome for clients and guests. Larger conference rooms will offer clients more comfort and privacy for confidential meetings.
Our design team will enjoy generous creative working space for collaboration on projects in various stages. Large workstations give team members plenty of room for drawings and material samples for the various projects they are involved with. And, best of all, our new space includes a design studio and social hub.
The New Finley Design Studio
By relocating our architectural finishes library to the expanded area, we’re now able to have a dedicated Design Studio space to pin up all of our ongoing design projects. In the Design Studio, the team can see not only their own projects but the work of other members of the team. Team members will be acquainted with all of our ongoing work. The Design Studio supports collaboration and design criticism, encouragement and strategic thinking – making it an essential part of our company culture.
The Finley Design Studio is a space where our team can see all of the ongoing projects and collaborate with each other. As we grow our design team, the studio becomes a key part of our infrastructure in establishing a space for us to continuously connect and work on projects together. By having a dedicated design studio, we are able to encourage junior designers to grow professionally while learning our corporate values and quality standards. This helps us maintain a high level of work across all designs.
The New Social Hub
The Social Hub is another important part of the Finley Design expansion. Our original conference room will be repurposed as open space for informal meetings, pin ups, and team members lunches. The Social Hub will connect us to each other better as a team, and will allow us to feel more informed of personal and professional interests, events, and developments.
Growing into Bigger and Better Things
The Finley Design expansion is an important step in our company’s growth. We are proud of our accomplishments thus far and are looking forward to bigger and better things in the future.
